Breckenridge Gold Panning
Although California’s gold rush usually gets more historical attention, the fact is that there was a significant gold rush in many parts of Colorado as well. In fact, there are still some operating gold mines in Colorado and a good number of hobbyists who enjoy searching for gold and panning for gold in Colorado’s many rivers, lakes and streams.
Although they may not have really planned on striking it rich, or even finding enough gold to merit a trip to a cash for gold shop to cash out, a group of hobbyists called the Gold Prospectors of Colorado have decided… Continue reading
A Brief History Of Silver
Silver mining has been undertaken since ancient times, as silver has been a prized metal for its beauty, luster and relative rarity. Silver has been a popular metal for minting coins and for turning into precious jewelry since at least the 4th century BCE. Of course, silver played a large role in the development of many countries and cultures, including much of Latin America and the United States.
While getting cash for silver is a relatively new phenomenon that is exclusive to modern times, for a long time your cash WAS your silver or gold coins and so the idea… Continue reading
The Allure Of The Pawn Shop
As the song goes: “Down at the pawn shop, it’s a wicked way to shop.” Why have pawn shops been so popular for so long in America? And why is it that they have a pretty bad reputation? What really is the allure of the pawn shop? These are the questions that keep us up at night. Well, maybe not. But, they are a little bit interesting to think about.
Hundreds of thousands of Americans visit the pawn shop every year in order to shop for cheap goods or to get short term loans which are secured against everyday valuables.… Continue reading
Fake Cops Rob Jewelry Store
Here’s an interesting new twist on the unfortunately not too uncommon jewelry store heist. It looks like a couple guys in the Salt Lake City area walked into a jewelry store dressed in blue with badges and demanded that the store owner hand over some of the jewelry. The two robbers were successful in making off with an undisclosed amount of precious jewelry from the store (as reported by the real Salt Lake City police).
The duo, who even turned away interested gold buyers during the heist, were able to swindle the storekeeper and ended up making off with a… Continue reading

Where Is Gold Headed Now? (And A Few Myths About Gold Prices)
There are many speculators out there who are convinced (one way or another) that gold prices are either headed for a rally or an even bigger slump than they have been on in the past few months. Of course, this is all speculation and nobody knows for certain but there are a few ways to make an intelligent decision when you are considering an investment in gold (or considering whether you should sell your gold).

Thieves Targeting Jewelry In Home Burglaries
An increasing number of home burglars are targeting gold and diamond jewelry instead of high-end electronics and other precious items because of the ease in which these thieves can turn the gold jewelry into money by hocking it to nearby gold buyers. There are several dozen of these types of burglaries everyday in the US and although many states and municipalities have put laws into place which are designed to discourage this kind of thing, their effectiveness has been somewhat limited.
Many of these laws require gold buyers and cash for gold stores to get a photo identification from anyone… Continue reading
New Synthetic Diamond Manufacturing Process Can Be Used To Make Gemstones
A new diamond manufacturing process promises to make synthetic diamonds that are of gemstone quality at prices that are competitive with natural diamonds on the market. In fact, the new manufacturing process could eventually have a significant impact on the market for higher quality gemstones as the technology is refined and the process improved so that it becomes even more economical. Diamond buyers should be aware of this development as it could have the effect of making diamonds more affordable for consumers.
The new process is known as Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). CVD is a slower, but more easily controlled… Continue reading

There are many gold buyers who are still buying gold, however and if you want to make sure that you get the best price and the most cash for gold jewelry it is a good idea to cash out now in order to make sure that… Continue reading
